The Basra Organization for Mine Clearance is a non-governmental organization in Iraq, dedicated to removing mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). It was officially authorized on March 16, 2022, but has been active since its founding on October 13, 2015. Previously, many of its staff worked with the Iraqi Organization for Demining (IMCO) since 2003.
- Mine Clearance: Conducting mechanical and manual clearance operations to eliminate mines and UXOs.
- Surveying: Performing both technical and non-technical surveys to assess areas for mine contamination.
- Quality Control (QC): Ensuring the accuracy and safety of demining operations.
- Awareness Programs: Educating the public about the risks of mines and UXOs.
- Humanitarian Work: Providing free services to remove mines in Basra and Dhi Qar governorates.
They have completed numerous clearance projects across Basra and surrounding areas using specialized equipment, including detectors and the MineWolf 240 machine(Basra Organization Brie…).
